I wonder if VersaEmerge are getting dropped.
What’s happening with Another Atmosphere is VERY similar to The Cab’s Symphony Soldier. Sierra interviewed Alex Deleon while they were still signed to FBR and he seemed pretty optimistic about the album, then they released a preview (I think) of the album and then we heard nothing for a bit, then they were dropped and then a month or so later Symphony Soldier came out.
I’m pretty sure Warped this year was supposed to be a platform for VersaEmerge to play new music and promote an album they’ve just released but clearly Fueled By Ramen don’t want this band to succeed. If they did, they’d have already released the album already so that when Blake and Sierra finally get on the road with Warped they can play new songs and proceed to sell them to people straight afterwards. Instead, they’re going to keep playing music we’ve already been listening to for years with No Consequences, Bones, Domesticated and Burn (maybe Catastrophe). I don’t think this was originally the plan.
People don’t tour in support of an album they haven’t released yet. At least they aren’t supposed to; they tour for a preview and I will not buy for a second that they are promoting Fixed At Zero because that ship has sailed now. Everybody is ready for something new. We haven’t received anything new, and I blame Fueled By Ramen. I honestly do not believe FBR have Versa’s best interests at heart because quite frankly the way they market Versa is shoddy. Shoddy is not what you come to expect when you have some of the most successful names in modern pop rock attached to your label (see tags). Simply not good enough.
How impressed do FBR expect people to be with this? This has been such a poorly handled album cycle from the outset.
I’m no industry expert but I’m pretty sure the cycle is supposed to look something like this
NOT THIS
Maybe I’m missing out on something. If I am can somebody please correct me?
I’m praying for Versa to leave FBR.
